If you believe that your image has been taken and used in an unlawful manner, namely, without your consent and/or not according to legal provisions, you can seek compensation from the public authority or private individual or entity that has processed your image. These principles also apply where you believe that your honour, dignity and reputation have been damaged due to the publication of your photo.

Your right to seek compensation in the case of a violation of your right to private life are stipulated in the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia.

Remember that you can request compensation for the material (financial) loss and/or the moral injury that you have suffered due to the unlawful processing of your image.

The procedure for submitting a complaint is different and depends on the status of the person in question, namely, whether it is a public person or a private person.
