EU citizens and third-country nationals may also be entitled to social rehabilitation services in Latvia if they are recognized as victims of human trafficking.

EU citizens are entitled to the same social rehabilitation services as any Latvian citizen, if they are recognized as victims of human trafficking.

The citizens from a third country (citizens of a country outside the EU) are entitled to the same social rehabilitation services, if they are recognized as victims of human trafficking and their current residence is in Latvia.

However, unlike the person conducting criminal proceedings, a social service provider cannot request a temporary residence permit for the victims for the period of social rehabilitation. Yet, a temporary residence permit may be requested by the third country national based on humanitarian considerations.
