The Latvian Centre for Human Rights is an independent non-governmental organisation established in 1993 working with issues concerning integration, discrimination, hate crimes, asylum, migration and fundamental rights issues, as well as human rights in closed institutions.

Legal aid
The Latvian Centre for Human Rights (LCHR) provides legal assistance to individuals with human rights cases in specific areas of expertise, including representation before domestic and international courts. Anyone can submit an oral or a written complaint to the LCHR lawyers, which will be handled confidentially and free of charge. Reporting hate crime
Any criminal act committed against a person or property, which is motivated by an offender’s hatred of people because of their race, ethnic origin, religion, gender, or sexual orientation is a hate crime. If crimes are not reported, offenders may be free to commit similar crimes again, either against you or other members of the community. You can report a hate crime on the website of the LCHR.
Reporting discrimination
Discrimination is unjust differential treatment on specific grounds protected by the law. Such grounds are race or skin colour, ethnic or national origin, political or other convictions, language, religious conviction, gender, age, disability, social origin, material status, family status, sexual orientation etc. You can report discrimination on the website of the LCHR.
