How can it help you
Zelda can provide you with professional legal assistance in cases relating to the rights of people with mental disabilities by providing legal advice and representation in court in selected cases. Zelda has worked with many aspects in this field, including cases about recognition of legal capacity and issues concerning the inclusion of mentally disabled people into society.
Activities
- Providing legal aid for people with mental disabilities and representation in court in selected cases
- Providing social services for people with mental disabilities - an individual social rehabilitation programme
- Providing a support person in decision making, including legal issues, financial issues, daily living skills, access to health care and the development of a support network
- Conducting research and policy analyses and providing expert opinions on issues involving mental disabilities
- Capacity building: organizing of training seminars and educative events for mental health care professionals, NGOs, the media, users of mental health care services and other target groups
- Public awareness raising in Zelda’s work areas
- Establishment of an informative resource centre in the field of mental disabilities
- Development and maintenance of international contacts for information, research, and the exchange of experience in the field of mental disabilities
