Emergency medical care is provided if a person is in a critical state with a serious threat to life or health. Everyone has the right to receive emergency medical assistance.
Emergency medical care is medical assistance to a person who is in a critical state of danger to life or health. It is provided by specially prepared medical practitioners.
Everyone has the right to receive emergency medical assistance as provided by law. It is included in the State-paid medical assistance minimum.
Emergency aid, by definition, has to be provided immediately. Based on the law, in 75% of cases emergency medical assistance must be provided:
- in republic cities – within 12 minutes of the call
- in municipality towns - within 15 minutes of the call
- in other territories - within 25 minutes of the call

- is unconscious
- is not breathing
- has severe injuries
- has major bleeding
- has severe, sudden pain in any part of the body
- cannot move a part of the body
